About

At age 16 I went to college to do my pre-farrier course, before getting an apprenticeship at age 17 with five time world champion Steven Beane FWCF. My apprenticeship lasted four years, in which I was trained with the highest level of meticulousness and strive for perfection, which has helped me two years on, still striving for that same perfection.
I have now been fully qualified for two years with six years shoeing experience, although I have been around horses for my whole life.
Customers
Due to my qualification and work ethic, I now work for four different race yards around the UK, as well as my civil customers. These include:
Ivan Furtado Racing
Jessica Macey Racing
Scott Dixon Racing
Lawrence Mullaney Racing

As well as the individual race yards that I shoe for, I also service multiple racecourses across the country. Including Thirsk, Beverly, Redcar, and Catterick, as well as servicing the Group 1 race track at York races.
Currently have shod 68 racehorse winners with many more to come.

Lawrence Mullaney Racing
“James is a brilliant farrier, he’s calm and patient with my younger horses and has sorted out my older lame horse who is now completely sound. James is an all round nice person who will always try and fit you in no matter the time of day.”
Jessica Macey Racing
“Thanks James, horses are flying. Glad you’re part of Team Macey x “
Scott Dixon Racing
“Just had another winner, must be those fast shoes!”

“Passion for Perfection”
“James is a fantastic Farrier and all round legend of a human. I have a thoroughbred who has a single brain cell and James does a great job keeping him in shoes and dealing with the special thoroughbred in a wonderful way. He’s calm, professional, and doesn’t charge for the laughs. He’s the Jimmy Choo of farriers!”
